Easy, Applicable & Pragmatic tips for Effective LEADERSHIP!

Generations never had the scarcity of leaders. There always had has been a challenger, a bold enthusiast, an enterprising individual, a face of the society, an ideal, a chivalrous being, exemplifying nobility. We call them ‘leaders’! They rise because they do have all the sound reasons for their break-through; After all they are blooming in the midst of inhibitions & obscurity.

When all have their heads down in dejection & despair, they are the lone-warriors with most optimistic possibility, able to see the silver lining of the clouds. They not only visualize the ‘Brighter’ side of the life but inculcate, imbibe it into themselves, their society and subsequently wherever appropriate.
“They’ have the excellent ability to see into the future and anticipate the consequences of decisions made now. They’re the leaders in the most significant way”: Lt. Colonel Stephen A. Shambach

Leaders are flexible- Open to new ideologies and suggestions; They’re aware- aware about the society in which they dwell and the circumstances which engulfs them; They’re well informed- about their associates, allies and enemies; They are collaborative planners who have the reins of decisions to organize and execute them effectively. They are efficient team-members first who look to direct their team-mates in a focused way, which we call the term-Leading.
There are many virtues in which a leader can be explained. Ideality, nobility and humility are the personification of a leader. They are imbibed in the actions, words & thoughts of a leader.
Let us see, what are the tips we can inculcate in our lives to lead people!

FOLLOW First

“You must always remeber that to lead, one must first learn to follow” – Haile Selassie.

The 1st step to become a leader is to become a sincere follower first. The crown of a leader entices many individuals as it induces dominance, power and control over others. This is the cheap thought though; of a person who is striving for establishing his dominance over the people- and remember these are the people who are weak.
True leaders know the value of their responsibility. They know their duties. A true leader never dominates but supports; never outpowers but empowers; never control others but his mind first. Strong men find a way to control their minds, because the most difficult & rewarding battle is the battle with yourselves; and leaders are already winners in their own appreciable way.
‘Cause the one who can break-through the shackles of his own inhibitions can cross any barrier in the materialistic physical world.

EDUCATION:

“Education fills thy empty vessels of one’s soul with wisdom, cause ignorance even fails to cover the misery” – Anonymous.

Knowledge makes the mind tranquil. It induces maturity within. The person with knowledge is free from quarrels, glitterati, and allures. Certainly, he knows what his role is in this world and thus he acts accordingly. The essential knowledge addressed as such important aspect of leadership life, cannot be found in the pages or words of mere books and literature pieces. They are the pristine essence of the education. Knowledge helps us to sustain in the competitive voyage of our individual lives.

Experience and Attitude runs complimentary to Education. Experiences strengthens the lessons of life giving a personal tinge of redefinition to the knowledge interpreted or better said attained; Attitude is based on individualistic criterion. Counter-attacking difficult circumstances shapes the personality in return of the attitude. Knowledge redefines your attitude and your work reflects your principles. It pristinely embalms the soul with Enlightenment.
In a nut-shell, all the possible optimistic philosophies can be successfully linked to ‘Knowledge’ due to its pristine and high-rank virtue. Education makes a person aware but Knowledge makes him wise.

Awareness induces information, but wisdom induces vision. Information imbibes analysis, interpretation ,and storage, but Vision induces inculcation of knowledge into action- which probably is the most pragmatic form of education. ‘Action’ is simply the paramount step of attaining/practicing knowledge, as it is undoubtedly the application of it.
So, the Knowledge and Attitude has been highlighted under the prime focus. The leaders had has a Redefined, focused and noble attitude imbibed in them. Having an ideal or a noble motivation surely is not a bad idea at all as it rekindles the spirit of leadership whatsoever.

The most significant contribution in your attitude construction is the Education. We all know the fact the ‘A Layman’s words don’t have such value, as which the words of an expert has’. I’m speaking about the value a person attains in this respective life with the reins of education. Imagine a leader who has not any relevant or professional education in his expertise! Sounds funny right, but it’s a matter of fact that Education compliments a leader. Great leaders always have been avid readers, writer and linked to the literature- the language of life and why they shouldn’t be! After all, they had all the essential messages to be stated.
“The foundation of every state is the education of the youth because only the educated can lead promisingly”: Diogenes

Cohesively, Education makes the foundation of a leader. A Youth can’t be a leader so easily, until and unless he has prowess in the field he wishes to lead.

GRIT

Firmness, Invincible spirit, unyielding courage, fearlessness, fortitude all are the technical synonyms which exemplify Grit’s meaning {and all are so convincing to hear!}.
But what takes a leader to get going, to continue through the obstacles, to walk through the hindrances and inhibitions and find the correct path.
A saying goes “A leader has to find a path, walk on it and achieve the destination. If everything goes right, then you can guide people through that path”- Anonymous.
So it signifies the responsibility of a leader to take daring initiatives and showcases the risk-taking ability of a leader. But, Fear does play part in leadership endeavors. We can even call it as awareness to dilute the word, though the meaning remains the same. Fear induces the responsibility we have undertaken, It teaches us to respect the dignity we live in today, It visualizes the starting point when the person has nothing in his hand, It does play an inevitable role in an individual’s life.
Grit is needed. Don’t’ get confused it with the aggression. Grit is not a 100m sprint, but a marathon. It takes patience and determination, perseverance and endurance to keep up the mission.
Grit is a quality which many would envy of. But true leaders have it firmly imbibed into their personalities. The spirit which ignites the flame within, the Unyielding courage which gives boldness to undertake challenges, Firmness to withstand the resistance- it all personifies GRIT.
Going Resilient In Times- is the appropriate abbreviation If needed to describe Grit.

LEAD by EXAMPLE

A leader is one who has the vision, the courage to tread on the challenging ways and which guides the way to the followers. Leader has to lead from the front
There goes an African saying “An army of a sheep led by a Lion can defeat an army of lions led by a sheep”

The leadership’s value has been suitably described in the above lines. The leader has the responsibility of the society, army, people, etc. and when he fails the followers fail.
The success of a leader does not depend upon the grandeur & fame of the leader, but the sincere support of the followers, who have the constructive participation in accomplishing the target of the leader; of the masses; of the goal; of the mission!
The vision of a leader plays an important part in the endeavor of the objective. His vision is in harmony with the plans which will be collaboratively executed.
If the aim has the hollowness or even with a tinge of obscurity, the practicability of the objective fails. Supporters; followers; volunteers they all will obey and follow for a cause- but the definition of the cause must appeal them, It must be pragmatic and constructive.

DON’T COMPLAIN but Find SOLUTIONS

Complaining worsens the situation you’re in right now and hence instead of wasting the precious time in complaining and finding faults, utilize that time in finding the solutions which will soothe the situation. The ambiance of work will be restored on a positive note if the leader is calm, stable and firm. It is of prime importance why the position of leader is well-renowned.
There are many names of leaders viz. Chairman, President, Director, Manager, etc. are not just positions. It’s the commitment that they’ll undertake upon themselves. Many people run away from the responsibilities which can challenge their comfort zone. But, a leader has already left his/her comfort zone. This is the difference between the leaders and the follower. The risk-taking ability is one of the virtues which a leader projects.
Complaints are the words of the weak; the ones who are dejected. But providing motivation, inducing inspiration, inducing hope and faith, finding the most feasible solutions and ways to counter-attack the issues – it’s the language of a true leader.

MANAGEMENT SKILLS

Out of the many skills, one can master, one of the most remarkable is the skill of management and a true leader has advanced proficiency in it. To master Management skills is worth the challenges it reflects, as this prowess is widely recognized as the most demanded virtue of an enterprising individual.
To manage people, it requires knowing the concepts at the grass-roots level of the individuals; the minutes of an event if any; the skill of managing time and human resources; to perform under extreme pressure and tightest of the deadlines; to efficiently make use of the resources; to make a focused layout of the plan and to deliver it to the support members in a clear, confident & defined way; to perform a holistic approach for organizing; to execute necessary plans in the most dynamic way; etc. are the duties which a leader act upon, surprisingly alone.
There are yet again, many skill and tips for a layman to transform into a leader. But, leadership quality can’t be so easily taught and learned. It is cohesively and carefully mastered; mastered by experiences, wisdom, and knowledge.

“Management is about arranging and telling. Leadership is about nurturing and enhancing” – Tom Peters.
