THEORY OF CREATION: The Greek Mythology

Apart from the theories of Genesis, Evolution and Aliens mating with monkeys, many other theories of creation of the world and humans exist in different faiths. Let's learn about the Greek faith.

The Greek Mythology is quite popular, the strong fandom of Percy Jackson is the evidence. Many people know the story of Greek Gods and Demi-Gods. But how many of us know the story from the beginning?

CHAOS

In the beginning, there was nothing but chaos in the world.

Out of this chaos, GAIA, TARTARUS, EROS, EREBUS and NYX were produced.

THE UNION OF EREBUS & NYX

Erebus {Darkness} and Nyx {Night} together produced AETHER {Light} and HEMERA {Day}.

GAIA

Gaia, the Goddess of Earth, produced the Earth without a mate.

Along with that, PONTUS {Sea}, URANUS {Sky} and OUREA {Mountains} came into existence, too.

THE UNION OF GAIA & URANUS

Gaia and Uranus fell in love and their union produced the 12 TITANS. With the Titans, CYCLOPS {One-eyed giants} and HECATONCHEIRES {Giants with 50 heads and 100 hands} were born, too.

Uranus didn't love the Cyclops and Hecatoncheires. He told Gaia to keep them in her womb. This enraged Gaia and she ordered KRONOS, Titan, to throw Uranus' genitals into the ocean.

BLOOD AND WATER

Out of the blood of Uranus' genitals in the water, more births happened. The ERINYES, Goddesses of Vengeance and Conscience; The MELIAE, Nymphs of the Ash tree and APHRODITE, Goddess of Beauty came out of the ocean.

KRONOS AND RHEA

Kronos became the ruler of the Titans and with RHEA, produced the GODS. Kronus was cruel and he ate his own children, except ZEUS. Rhea got angry at Kronus and gave him a rock to eat instead of Zeus. After many years, Zeus served a drink to him and he vomited up the Gods. This incident led to a war between the two clans.

TITANS VS GODS

In the war between Titans and Gods, the latter won. Gods started to rule the world from MT. OLYMPUS. The Titans were banished and put in prison in the underworld- TARTARUS.

THE CREATION OF MAN

PROMETHEUS was a Titan who sided with Zeus so he was not sent to Tartarus. Prometheus didn't like the Gods. He created Man from clay and loved him more than the Gods. He even stole fire from the Man. This made Zeus angry and he ordered to create the first Woman, PANDORA.

PANDORA'S BOX

Zeus gave Pandora a box as a "punishment" and sent her to EPIMETHEUS, brother of PROMETHEUS. Pandora was very beautiful and Epimetheus soon fell in love with her. But curious Pandora opened the box and all the evils flew out of it. She quickly closed it. Only one thing was left in the box- HOPE
